Our Responsibility
SSI Lifestyle is a small brand. We know the people who make our clothes, and we intend to keep it that way.
How we make things
Our private label collection is made by a small group of manufacturing partners we work with directly. We choose them on the quality of what they make and on how they run their facilities, and we are in contact with them daily through every stage of production.
What we require
Every partner who produces SSI Lifestyle goods signs our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets minimum standards drawn from the core conventions of the International Labour Organization and covers:
Supplier Code of Conduct
- No forced labor and no child labor
- Freedom of association and the right to bargain collectively
- Wages that meet or exceed the legal minimum, and paid overtime
- Safe, clean facilities with working fire exits and protective equipment
- No discrimination, harassment or abuse
- Written confirmation of where our goods are actually produced
Where local law is stricter than our Code, local law wins.
How we check
We talk to our partners every day, not through a broker and not through a catalog. We ask them for current third-party audit reports and material safety certifications, and we ask them to confirm in writing where every order is made.
Our first in-person factory visits are planned for early 2027. We want to see the floor ourselves.
Where we're going
We're working toward a fuller picture of our supply chain, including the mills and dye houses upstream of the factories that sew our garments. We're not there yet. We'd rather say that plainly than overstate it.
